1960s Brass Flower Hardware
I am into details. Big details and little details. All the details! A category I really enjoy is Vintage & Antique Hardware. I love finding and looking at vintage and antique hardware - there are so many interesting designs and use of materials out there over the decades.
In my Shop currently, I have a set of 8 mid-century brass and white flower drawer knobs by the Amerock Corporation of Rockford, Illinois. Unlike some hardware I’ve found in the past, these knobs have a Patent Number on the back of each knob. Researching the Patent Number, I was able to locate the original document that was filed by the Amerock Corporation in April 1960. This particular knob design was patented on August 2nd, 1960. An image of the patent filing document is below. It’s neat to see the original documentation of pieces!
Instant Collections
Instant collections/ groupings of items can be great for a variety of reasons. You can find “instant collections” nearly anywhere — at estate sales, online platforms like Etsy, eBay, etc., thrift stores, and at auction. Groupings of items is visually impactful in an interior and buying a collection already put together is a quick way to achieve this collected look.
